WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Director, Accounting is responsible for implementing and maintaining a system of internal controls that will ensure that company assets are adequately safeguarded and that all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with all internal financial policies and US GAAP. You will develop and lead a team of managers, senior staff accountants and staff accountants. This is a full-time, hybrid role.
- Oversees the general accounting function, which includes cash management/reconciliation, fixed assets and intangibles, accounts payables, inter-company accounting, financial reporting and balance sheet management.
- Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are properly functioning to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.
- Ensures that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and US GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.
- Ensures that the accounting system continues to operate as required. Involved in validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.
- Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings
- Oversee and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring that pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations.
- Responsible for treasury functions for PSFC, the Brand Fund, and MLBC including managing the banking relationships, cash management operations, cash forecasting, and corporate credit card program management.
- Supervises the completion of Federal and State tax reporting requirements (including income, property, sales and use, payroll and other local taxes), insurance reports and other reports required by government regulation. Also, assists Chief Accounting Officer in dealing with tax related issues and meeting reporting requirements.
- Supervise annual business license renewals to help ensure Primrose is compliant with state and local regulations where required
- Serves as primary finance liaison for the Foundation and responsible for financial statement preparation, quarterly board meeting package support, annual external audit facilitation and annual tax preparation and compliance.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Our ideal candidate will possess a mix of the following skills and competencies:
- 7-10 years of professional accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA preferred
- Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) accounting standards, and best practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and accounting software
- High degree of accuracy, organization and attention to detail
- Ability to interact professionally with others while maintaining internal controls of the organization
- Credible, honest and high integrity
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to multi-task and balance multiple high priority tasks
