WHAT YOU WILL DO 

As Associate General Counsel, Real Estate and Development, you will serve as the lead legal counsel for Primrose’s School Development team.  You will provide legal counsel to support Primrose’s real estate and development-related plans and priorities including the acquisition and conversion of existing child care centers to the Primrose brand. You will partner with internal teams and outside counsel on real estate and development matters, including related franchise issues. You will provide legal support on general corporate/miscellaneous matters as needed. This is a full-time, hybrid role.
  • Support Primrose’s growth strategy by providing strategic and effective legal advice on real estate and development-related matters, including real estate acquisition, leasing, acquisition of existing childcare centers, lending and refinancing and construction of schools
  • Manage outside counsel relationships 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to establish and execute real estate and development strategy for the franchise system, manage inter-department input into legal documents, and oversee consummation of the transactions therein
  • Manage and maintain all legal documentation related to real estate
  • Administer and advise on company real estate agreement standards and template provisions and forms
  • Develop, implement and improve processes and training as needed, based on legal requirements, industry standards, and best practices
  • Assist in resolving issues on real estate and development matters as they arise, including franchise-related aspects
  • Provide support on other legal matters, as needed
 

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR 
  • J.D. and a license to practice law
  • 10+ years’ experience in real estate law
  • Experience running a real estate transaction from start to finish with minimal supervision
  • Prior experience in franchise industry (preferred)
  • Experience analyzing, interpreting, and clearly communicating legal strategies and requirements to/for non-lawyer colleagues
  • Agility and high attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
